Tip #3: Collaboration and Communication
Published: June 2021
Today’s tip is all about Collaboration, communication, problem-solving, challenge and success - all skills that will be developed as you play this activity. These skills raise a child’s self-esteem as they recognise that they can be successful working with others, communicating accurately, problem-solving and coping with challenges.
As self-esteem improves so does self-confidence and a realisation that these skills are transferable and can be used in other scenarios such as school challenges or social challenges. So what better way than a scavenger hunt to stretch ourselves while enjoying nature?

So, today I'm thinking about a scavenger hunt.
This is a great way of getting your children to think outside the box,
to problem solve, to work together.
So it's building collaboration skills,
it's building communication skills,
it's raising self-confidence when they find success.
A really great way to do this is just find a pad,
think of some challenging clues...
lead your children from one clue to another...
maybe to find a magic stone?
Or a favourite teddy?
And when they've done it they will feel that wonderful feeling of success,
of having achieved something together.
So have fun.
Send them around your garden,
outside place or park.
Off you go!
