Death can be a taboo topic that people often don’t feel equipped to deal with. It feels especially hard when young children lose someone very close to them, how do we talk to them about death? What’s the best way to support young people who are grieving?

The young people in this film all have suffered the death of a parent at a young age. They share the reactions of their communities and their schools, and how we need to be sensitive to the various ways grief may affect us all. These conversations aim to support children and the people around them to navigate through an experience that can sometimes feel like a minefield.

For more support you can reach out to UK national charities like Grief Encounter, Child Bereavement UK and Winston’s Wish which provide important support to bereaved children, young people and their families.
