Rachel - Life as a SENCO

What is the role of SENCOs in supporting neuro-divergent children

As a SENCO Rachel sees her role as advocating for vulnerable children. Although often parents are the first to spot some concerning signs, sometimes it’s the teacher or the SENCO who might notice something in a child and who might need to bring this to the attention of the parent. This initial conversation with the parent can be difficult. Parents and Teachers/SENCOs need to work together and share the differences between the child when at school or at home.
