Dr Petra Gronholm is a mental health researcher and educator with over 15 years' experience working across academia, healthcare, NGOs, and international agencies. Her expertise focuses on help-seeking, service access, mental health stigma and discrimination, with particular emphasis on children, young people, and global mental health contexts.
Dr Gronholm's applied health services research bridges theory and practice to drive practical change. She has contributed to guidelines and toolkits in collaboration with international health agencies including WHO.
She is committed to teaching and capacity development, with over 10 years' experience supervising students at BSc, MSc and PhD level, and training medical students and public health practitioners. She also runs an early career researcher mentoring programme.
