Dyslexia is a learning difficulty, which affects around 10% of the population. Dyslexia mainly impacts a child’s writing and reading skills. Unless it is understood and supported by the school and parents, dyslexia can impact a child’s experience of education, their self-esteem and mental health.

Dyslexia is a neurological difference and each person’s experience of dyslexia is different, ranging from mild to severe, often occurring with other learning difficulties. Of course, thinking differently is also a huge strength and many dyslexic children shine in areas such as reasoning and in visual and creative areas, which is why it’s so vital that we understand how to help all children thrive.

Our film is aimed at helping parents, carers and people working with young children to create environments where dyslexic children can learn and live, with a more informed understanding and a flexible notion of learning and success.

Our films are made in collaboration with leading paediatric psychologists and psychiatrists using evidence-based techniques to help support families and children who may be experiencing issues with their mental health.
