Professor Dasha Nicholls
Mental Health Expert
Dr Dasha Nicholls is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and researcher specialising in feeding and eating disorders in children and young people. She leads the Child and Adolescent Mental Health research team at Imperial College London, where she is also Deputy Head of the Division of Psychiatry.
Her work focuses on improving understanding of eating disorders, higher weight and wider mental health challenges, with a strong emphasis on risk factors and early intervention. She is particularly interested in practical, scalable approaches that can improve support, from parent training through to wider system and policy change.
Dr Nicholls also plays a key role nationally as NHS England’s Specialty Advisor on All-Age Eating Disorders, helping to develop best practice and training for services. Her work continues to influence how eating disorders are identified and supported across research, clinical practice and national policy.
