Dr David Trickey
Mental Health Expert
Dr David Trickey is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Co-Director of the UK Trauma Council. He has specialised in working with children, young people and families affected by trauma since 2000, particularly following experiences such as domestic abuse and family loss.
Alongside his clinical work, he leads and supports others through training, supervision and service development, including his role within specialist services for children in care. His work brings together research and practice, with a focus on improving how trauma is understood and responded to across different settings.
Dr Trickey has contributed to national guidance, including the revision of the NICE guidelines for PTSD. Through his work, he continues to support professionals and services to provide effective, evidence-based care for children and families.
