The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King's College London is Europe's leading centre for mental health and neuroscience research, and the largest of its kind in the UK. Since its earliest years, the IoPPN has been at the forefront of transforming how we understand, prevent and treat mental illness and conditions affecting the brain — with 90% of its research rated 'world leading' or 'internationally excellent' in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework, and recognition as one of the most cited research centres in the world.

Through its partnership with the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust — the UK's largest mental health service provider — the IoPPN ensures that cutting-edge research translates rapidly into real-world clinical practice. With 29 academics listed as Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers and a global network of partnerships spanning policy, prevention, treatment and care, the institute continues to shape mental health practice both locally and internationally.
