Rachel Macfarlane
Education consultant
Rachel Macfarlane is an author and independent education consultant with extensive experience in school leadership. She was Headteacher of three schools over 16 years and founded an all-through 4–18 academy, which was judged outstanding by Ofsted in 2014 and 2018.
She has held senior roles at a national level, including Director of Education Services at HFL Education, and now works with schools to support inclusion, equity and school improvement.
Rachel is the author of several books exploring themes of disadvantage, diversity and inclusive practice, including Obstacles for Schools, Unity in Diversity and The A–Z of Inclusion and Diversity. Her work focuses on helping schools address inequality, support all learners and create environments where every child can succeed.
