Our recent work: empowering teachers to talk about mental health During the Covid-19 pandemic we realised that we needed to address the stress among children and their families. Furthermore, we realised that primary school teachers needed some tools to help them deal with children's emotional wellbeing. Teachers are often the first people to spot the signs of mental health conditions in children, and are able to observe first-hand any changes in mood and behaviour within their pupils. We created an Information for Teachers page and over the last few months produced 10 short films with practical tips for teachers. These films are equally helpful for parents, grandparents and others caring for children. What's next? Future topics will include Self-Harm, Eating Disorders, Adoption & Fostering and Dyslexia. Our goal is to end the stigma about mental health by raising awareness and understanding about common conditions. Many mental health conditions begin in childhood but are not diagnosed until much later in life. We believe early intervention can make a real difference. Please spread the word You can do this by sharing our articles, factsheets, and short films with your contacts, friends, schools, social workers, NHS workers and through social media. As a charity, we depend on donations to continue creating our free resources for parents, teachers and carers. If you would like to make a small donation, you can do so on our Donations page. ## Our recent work: empowering teachers to talk about mental health

During the Covid-19 pandemic we realised that we needed to address the stress among children and their families. Furthermore, we realised that primary school teachers needed some tools to help them deal with children's emotional wellbeing. Teachers are often the first people to spot the signs of mental health conditions in children, and are able to observe first-hand any changes in mood and behaviour within their pupils.

We created an [Information for Teachers](https://nipinthebud.trilbyhost.com/toolkit/school-life) page and over the last few months produced 10 short films with practical tips for teachers. These films are equally helpful for parents, grandparents and others caring for children.

## What's next?

Future topics will include Self-Harm, Eating Disorders, Adoption & Fostering and Dyslexia.

Our goal is to end the stigma about mental health by raising awareness and understanding about common conditions. Many mental health conditions begin in childhood but are not diagnosed until much later in life. We believe early intervention can make a real difference.

## Please spread the word

You can do this by sharing our [articles](https://nipinthebud.trilbyhost.com/articles), [factsheets](https://nipinthebud.trilbyhost.com/factsheets), and [short films](https://nipinthebud.trilbyhost.com/videos) with your contacts, friends, schools, social workers, NHS workers and through social media.

As a charity, we depend on donations to continue creating our free resources for parents, teachers and carers. If you would like to make a small donation, you can do so on our [Donations](https://nipinthebud.trilbyhost.com/donate) page.
